Interior window shutters have been made in the United states for a long time, but with the outsourcing of much work to China and other countries the making of the plantation shutter has been hurt in more than one way. The good old fashioned American shutters, have long held a heritage. They have traditionally been made in the US all the way back to the 1800’s and have had their place.

Now however plantation shutters are being made overseas.The cost is a lot lower for companies to have them massed produced and then shipped back and sold here. This is because the actual wage would be more to pay someone in the US to build and assemble them. But with this mass production has shown to come an inferior build of shutters.
