material, stronger than wood and the shutters won’t warp, chip, crack, or peel. We also can say that about quality wood products. All synthetic products around us are heavier and the shutters as well.

The cost of the synthetic shutters can be a good point for the moment but they cannot offer the long-term advantages of wood shutters. They are limited in color palette and many times the company that manufactured the shutters labels them unaesthetic.

Synthetic shutters manufacturers are not able, because of this material, to offer versatile products for their customers. Even if they managed to copy some of the characteristics of wood and to implement them into their synthetics you may see easily the difference.
Polywood is a wood substitute and as any substitute cannot be better than the original, wood is a natural material, warm, friendly and that is the reason why wood shutters will be a better choice for you and your family.

The synthetics are obtained from petroleum and they are nonrenewable because they cannot be replenished in a short period of time. Wood is a renewable source and can be replenished naturally in a short period of time. It is a beautiful material, strong but also lighter and the shutter can be classically handcrafted and unique designed to fulfill all your expectations. Wooden shutters providing elegance, utility, light and visibility because they can be produces even in large panels, able to offer all of these benefits for the consumers.

As an important point in your home the shutters must have all the detail and natural beauty of wood shutters, a perfect fit for your room, almost an extension of your wood furniture.

Most all are custom made wood plantation shutters when it comes to the construction of plantation shutters, although many of the new shutters are made of a synthetic wood material. If you want real custom made wood plantation shutters though just about anyone can do that for you that sells shutters. Depending on if you want an inside mount or an outside mount, you can have that part of the shutter made to your specifications.

A lot of people like frameless shutters, which means they just match up perfectly with the wall nice and flush. This is a nice clean look that is a favorite of mine as well. Most people seem to like having a nice frame though. The trim curved edges look very nice and give a Victorian like look. The trim can also be styled the way you want it as well.

Another thing about custom made wood plantation shutters are the louvers that can be up or down, and can be thin or thick. This has a very nice appearance when you are watching the sun come up or go down, and if you at are at the high point of the day when the sun is very bright, you can just tilt it right so that you can allow just enough light in. These are just a few of the things you can do with custom made wood plantation shutters. I will have more ideas in other articles as well.

With more recent developments, fauxwood shutters have become more popular of choice for many people. Why is this so? because wood shutters take more work. Window shutters are becoming more and more popular to be created with fauxwood, and I will tell you why. First of all wood shutters have a more natural feel and look, but they do not always look perfect in wood.

Fauxwood when used with blinds and shutters does not need a finish after a cut as wood would need. This is because fauxwood has such perfect consistency all the way through that it can be cut and it is ready to be used without any further working. This means it will not splinter as wood could as well.

Another great facet of fauxwood is that if you have your plantation shutters with this material, you will not see bubbling up or any other bad thing happening because of water or some type of moisture in the air. This will help you to maintain your window shutters and have a clean and crsip look with minimal maintenance for a long time.
